Licenses and usage rights

How model conditions, reference-asset permissions and software notices relate to your creations.

Last updated:

Each model has its own conditions

Access to a model through Renderly does not place every model under one license. Model-specific conditions may limit commercial use, sensitive applications, redistribution, attribution, use of outputs or use of model weights.

Review the current conditions for the exact model and version before using it in a product, client project or commercial campaign. A model name or availability badge alone does not confirm a particular commercial permission. If a permission is unclear, ask before relying on it.

Model names and marks identify their respective creators. Catalogue inclusion does not by itself represent an endorsement or a direct partnership.

Rights in your reference material

Confirm that you can upload and transform the images, footage, music, text and other assets you supply. A license to view or download an asset may not include permission to use it as a generation reference.

For real people, check consent and applicable privacy or likeness rights. Permission to use a photograph does not automatically include permission to clone the subject’s voice, create an endorsement or place them in a new scene.

Rights in generated results

The rights available in a result depend on the model conditions, your inputs and applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not grant copyright to wholly generated material. Similar results can be generated for different users, and a result can still implicate another person’s trademark, copyright or likeness.

Review material before publication, keep any required attribution and obtain rights needed for your intended use. Buying credits pays for the service; it does not buy a universal intellectual-property clearance.

Open-source software notices

Software components distributed with the site remain subject to their respective licenses. Their notices concern the software itself and are separate from the rules for using a generated result. Required copyright and license notices should be retained when those components are redistributed.

Report an intellectual-property concern

The content reporting options can help you prepare a rights notice. Identify the protected work or mark, the precise content location or job identifier, how it is used and how you can be contacted.

For a copyright notice, include a good-faith statement that the reported use is unauthorized, a statement that the information is accurate, and confirmation that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them. Include the signature and any additional information required by the applicable procedure. Do not claim authority you do not have.

A report may require clarification and review of relevant rights or permissions. Use the currently available delivery channel shown by the reporting page.
